Birgit Meinhard-Schiebel, Marjatta Donner, Walter DecoeneBirgit Meinhard-Schiebel – Age discrimination is a serious offense! The newly elected Board of Green Seniors Europe has held a fringe meeting to combat age discrimination in the European Green Party Council on 10.5.2013.

Age shall in no event, whether they are young or old people, lead to discrimination. Either through ignorance, segregation or discrimination. People at any age the right to be protected from discrimination. At present, the protection against age discrimination applies only in some countries in connection with working life – otherwise there are cases of discrimination based on age neither protection nor sanctions. Together with participants of all ages – from the young to the old Green Green was decided to draw up demands that passes through the inclusion of the topic in the age discrimination laws and regulations for protection. This requires major pressure and political clout. Together to create young and old by Generation Green policy in Europe this challenge.
