We meet regularly online with our board and with our members.
We have redesigned our website and we are represented in five expert forums of the German National Association of Senior Citizens’ Organisations (BAGSO): Current Issues in Senior Citizens’ Policy, Engagement and Participation, Health and Care, Digitalisation, and International Affairs. We have delegated one representative to each of these forums.

We also have an editorial team and publish our magazine regularly. In this way, we support senior citizens’ groups throughout Germany in their election campaigns.
The last magazine was our anniversary edition celebrating 20 years of Grüne Alte.
In April, the Green Seniors attended Senior Citizens’ Day in Mannheim and discussed senior citizens’ policy with all the democratic parties. We had a stand there and were able to distribute a lot of material.
In March, Hamburg elected its five-member state executive committee. We now have state associations in Berlin, Bremen, Saarland, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Hamburg.

In June, we were on the podium at the German Centre for Ageing Issues in Cologne to discuss gender diversity in old age. The conclusion: we need more exchange to understand differences and discover commonalities. It was an important event! In addition, Senior Citizens’ Week was opened in Berlin, and we were once again visible there with a stand.
The Grey Greens Saar invited people to an event entitled ‘Rethinking Care’. Despite the summer heat, the event was well attended and our fans with our logo were put to good use.
In July, we held two strategy meetings to discuss how to move forward: we need more regional associations, want to do more public relations work and use social media more.
In Okctober was an interesting conference about digitalisation and The German Institute for Retirement Provision (DIA) presented an interesting study showing that social media has a major influence on the emergence and reinforcement of generational images.

The next event will be our party conference from 28 to 30 of November, where we will once again be represented with a stand.
Unfortunately, our motion to discuss our status as the Federal Association of Green Seniors did not make it into the top 10 motions.
There have been discussions with the Green Party’s federal executive committee, but we are still in a waiting position.
