First of all: Happy New Year to you all! Don’t be discouraged, we’ll keep going and we’ll need our confidence!

Our first meeting in 2026 took place on Sunday, the 4th of January and we took another brief look back at the EGP congress in Lisbon, agreed that it was a good event for us, and want to try to be there right at the start of the congress in future. More information about Lisbon can be found here in the link.
Robert had an interesting meeting with ESO and was asked if he would like to participate in the AGE discussions on the UN Convention for Older Persons. That’s great, and he has agreed to do so. It is an exciting approach and we think about, holding a webinar on the UN Convention for Older People probably in June. Would you like it?
Rodita is a task force member of EGP. We should try to be able with her to secure voting rights for European Green Seniors. EGP has published „our visions“ on its homepage, but older people are still not mentioned anywhere. We have to work on this and our visibility.
We have decided to supplement/adapt Christas five points of green senior politics by the next meeting on 19 February without making the text much longer.
If we want to be more visible, we need someone to be responsible for the Instagram account, where all of us can post.
(Almost) every boardmember can also post on Facebook; Christa has given everyone editor rights and will do the same for new members who want them.
What do you think about low-threshold surveys for seniors in all countries? We could ask at stands or senior citizens’ days or meeting places: How are things in your neighbourhood? What is good, what should change? This could cover meeting places, accessibility, caring communities, neighbourhood programmes, care, exclusion through digitalisation, affordable housing and transport and much more.
We could write this down and use it to conduct unpretentious social research, which we can publish and pass on. Among other seniorplaces, the green parties, on social media and to EGP. We like the idea and are currently planning how to implement it.
In May, we will consider whether to become a full member of AGE.
At the next meeting, the minutes of the General Assembly will be approved, which Irmgard will send out .
We had two intensive hours and think we achieved a lot. If you have any ideas or comments, please get in touch!
