Happy Intergenerational Week!

From 24–30 April 2024, people around the world will celebrate Global Intergenerational Week. The week is an annual, civil society-led campaign that aims to highlight the power of intergenerational practice – and this year, the Global Campaign to Combat Ageism is supporting the week.

Members of the WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities know that making our environments more age-friendly benefits not only older people, but people of all ages and abilities. That’s why activities that bring generations together to promote greater understanding and respect are already being done by many Global Network members.

This year’s Global Intergenerational Week highlights the links between intergenerational practice and the global age-friendly movement by dedicating Day 4 (27 April) to celebrating intergenerational spaces and communities.
