35,000 deaths due to the last heatwave in Europe. And it were mainly older people who died, often alone in their homes, in overheated care homes or hospitals. Climate change affects us all: younger people because they will have to endure its effects for longer, and older people because they suffer particularly severely from heat. We must finally take action, stop CO₂ emissions and also implement climate adaptation measures. That is why we urgently need climate action plans, and it is essential that older people are involved in drawing them up.
