Stop “an Eye for an Eye“. Stop the War in Gaza!

The world burns by the design of a few who claim the right to dominate it – its people, its existence.

Their hunger for power is insatiable. They orchestrate global massacres, flaunt it on social media, and face no consequences. Dehumanization, terror, and destruction have become standard practice.

Ancient doctrines – an eye for an eye, patriotism, religious fervor have always turned populations of voters and followers into willful tools and operators of war. Warfare persists without end.

It is the population of countries, their hard earned money, their children, who provide the oxygen which drives this deadly system.   We must acknowledge:  It is precisely this oxygen which has to be denied and rescinded – for good, permanently!

The Geneva Conventions on the Law of War from 1949, Article 3, is the regulatory vehicle;  to be implemented at all war-torn countries,  including for the Palestinan people and their starving children. Right Now!

STOP NOW – Never Again Is NOW!

We call for an immediate ceasefire. Stop the delivery of weapons to Israel.

At the heart of democracy lies the respect for the fundamental rights and dignity of all human beings. This principle is no longer upheld in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

We, the European Green Seniors, firmly declare:
We are not anti-Jewish, not anti-Semitic, and not anti-Palestinian.
We stand in opposition to extremist Zionism and the right-wing Netanyahu regime.
We equally condemn the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas.

We are deeply alarmed by the dire situation faced by the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. We urgently call for peace negotiations from both sides to establish a stable and lasting peace in the Middle East — one rooted in a two-state solution, based on the borders defined by the United Nations Partition Plan of 1947.

An increasing number of countries around the world have already recognized the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state. Among them: Armenia, Slovenia, Ireland, Norway, Spain, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and Barbados.

Some among us still remember the creation of the State of Israel. We, the European Green Seniors, also remember the many crises that followed, born from the forced coexistence of populations with deeply different roots.

We did not speak out sooner because we are the generation that remembers the Holocaust and the unspeakable suffering endured by the Jewish people. This must never be forgotten — and it will not be.

But today, the Palestinian people are suffering. They are being killed, displaced, and subjected to an apartheid system. They are starving before our eyes.

According to NGOs, 53,000 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip over the past fifteen months — including 16,000 children, according to UNICEF. More than 120,000 have been injured.

These atrocities, committed under the leadership of Benjamin Netanyahu — against whom an international arrest warrant has been issued for war crimes and crimes against humanity — must end now. The argument of “self-defense” can no longer justify these actions.

Palestinian territory must not be allowed to become a zone of speculation and profit for foreign powers and multinational corporations.

We reaffirm our demand for a two-state solution, the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people, and the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state on their own land.

Board of European Green Seniors
